Florida’s governor Ron DeSantis has been cautious about the president’s potential ambitions so far, but his itinerary is that of someone in the 2024 mix.
The latest evidence on that front is a fundraiser due to be held in Las Vegas later this month. DeSantis, nicknamed “America’s Governor” by supporters and supporters, will grace the Nevada stage on Friday the 13th.
DeSantis will of course not raise money for himself: he will be there to help Sen. Tom cotton, the Arkansas fire-blight that some have suggested, might itself be presidential wood. Also present: former Nevada Attorney General Adam Laxalt, a longtime friend of the governor.
Of course, the governor gets his flight time, and the forays west have become freer. Just last week, DeSantis spoke to the conservative American Legislative Exchange Council in Salt Lake City, where he talked about the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Dr. Anthony Faucilike the local Salt Lake Grandstand reported.
POLITICSMeanwhile, DeSantis was documenting “inflatables” across Southern California in search of platform and profit. The same publication reports that ratings were mixed, with the governor not wooing donors as best as possible, and a blind article quote urging him to be less “porcupine” and more “golden retriever”.
Regardless of concerns about DeSantis’ spikiness, the governor is still a top notch draw card, and he knows it. Over the past few months he has been talking about his political future, emphasizing that his first and foremost focus is on re-election.
“I get people, probably everywhere I go, who have all these ideas and people can say what they want, but you know we have a lot to do here, so that’s the focus that I have and we look forward to getting off and running for cycle 2022. Of course we plan a lot; we do what we have to do, more is to come in that regard. But you see, at the end of the day we’re really happy with the direction the state is going, ”DeSantis said in June when asked about someone at an event who called him a“ future world leader ”.
In the same month, he was also kept secret from a cable news hit.
“I haven’t talked to anyone beyond what we’re doing now,” said DeSantis, adding that the strategy is “one day at a time.”
According to the odds maker, DeSantis is one heavy favorite for re-election, no matter who the Democrats nominate as a replacement. And he’s in position to be the Republican favorite in 2024 if Trump’s fatigue finally prevails.

“The players are starting to get the idea of Donald Trump Return to the White House in 2024, and it reduced his chances from 9/2 to 7/1, ”said a bookmaker spokesman. “Instead, support is gathering for Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who moved from 11/2 to 9/2 to win the Republican race and 10/1 from 16/1 to be elected president.”
DeSantis is of course a strong fundraiser. Until June, his Friends of Ron DeSantis The political committee had over $ 44 million to spend, well ahead of any of its potential Democratic challengers.
