In honor of the fall – not to mention the return of the Downtown Brew Festival this month, held at the Clark County Amphitheater on October 16 – it makes sense to turn our attention to Las Vegas restaurants that serve great beer food. ‘It’s the season to soak up some soapy water, and it all starts at the legendary Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas (702.853.2337) where an Oktoberfest is celebrated every day. Now, in actual October, various local celebrities and entertainers drop by every Friday and Saturday evening to tap a new keg and keep the party going, which is pretty easy when you have huge mugs of cold beer and delicious Bavarian specialties like crispy ones Pork knuckle with kale and bacon salad, baked giant pretzels with onion mustard and breaded schnitzel with mushroom sauce.

Do you know what else goes well with an icy brew? Fried chicken, especially the southern variety, and that’s the specialty of Yardbird Southern Table & Bar (702.297.6541) at The Venetian. Get that crispy, juicy goodness on a pepper jelly biscuit, on a cheddar waffle with flavored watermelon, or all by itself, a simple half bird with hot honey sauce. It’s all familiar and tasty, but you might not know that Yardbird has one of the Strip’s best beer selections, including local craft favorites as well as Las Vegas’ own master brewers like Able Baker, Big Dog’s, Tenaya Creek, and more.

The recently reopened The drunk donkey (855.888.3463) at Rio is a great place to enjoy Mexican fare with a Modelo Especial or Dos Equis lager on tap. Celebrity chef Guy Fieri has put together this menu as a basis for a good time and serves fresh guacamole, “trash can” nachos with Carne Asada or Al Pastor, cheeseburger tacos with braised beef Sonora-style and chicken mole verde enchiladas.

To the west in the Downtown Summerlin complex, brand new taproom Beer zombies (702.780.0297) curates hard-to-find beers from around the country and the freshest local flavors to offer a one-of-a-kind beer tasting experience, and it has a small but fine menu to top it off. Square Sicilian-style pizza slices with your favorite savory and flavorful toppings will satisfy your growing appetite, or nibble on addictive crispy Nashville Hot-flavored chicken wings and cauliflower.

Back on the strip, the always popular one Beer house (702.692.2337) at The Park will definitely fill up with hockey fans when the Vegas Golden Knights games resume this month at the nearby T-Mobile Arena. Better hop on while you can to work your way through the endless taps and carefully selected beers as you nibble on rotisserie chicken, grill ribs, shaved roast beef sandwiches, and IPA cheddar sausage brats with smoked bacon and onion jam.

Another indoor-outdoor hotspot just up the boulevard is the roof Beer park (702.444.4500) in Paris, where you split your time between sports on HD screens and all the strip action below. Of course, you’ll also share chili verde nachos, deviled eggs, mac and cheese eggrolls, and chicken cheesesteaks along with beer flights giving you four 6-ounce toppings for you to sample to your heart’s content.
