One of the great things about dining on the Las Vegas Strip is that in many cases it is an experience, and this is especially true of a restaurant – Catch. From the moment you see the entrance right next to the hotel’s large lobby, you know that something special is waiting for you. You’ll start with a stroll through a 25-foot tunnel-like pergola that blooms with a rainbow-colored explosion of flowers, plants, and lights (this place had so many selfie moments that its hashtag has thousands of posts on Instagram).
The tunnel leads into a multi-room dining room, in which guests can take a seat at the main bar and the spacious, lounge-like anteroom or make it a little more upscale with a spacious niche in the main dining room that is adorned with a huge, simulated Mediterranean olive tree huge, glowing lightbulbs lit up. Book one of the bird cage stands for a very special experience.
Now for the menu, because the food is just as breathtaking and deliciously fun as the space. The restaurant’s modus operandi when it comes to dining takes the tastiest bits of Asian cuisine and imaginatively combines them with seafood, sushi, and steak dishes (with some tasty vegetarian options).
The convincing starters include the crispy rice cakes that look like small loaves of bread, the Hellfire Roll with spicy tuna, pear and balsamic vinegar and the popular catch roll with crab, salmon and a specially made miso-honey sauce. Warm dishes that deserve special attention include wagyu gyoza, fillet skewers, king crab tempura, and the popular Japanese Miyazaki Wagyu A5, which is thinly sliced and cooked at the table on a signature hot stone.
For a main course, Catch offers an abundance of seafood such as Cantonese lobster, sautéed wild-caught snapper, and herb-fried branzino. For lawn lovers, a New York strip or fillet will satisfy (or share the gigantic 36-ounce tomahawk with your sweetheart).
End the night with the visually cool and deliciously chocolaty Hit Me chocolate cake, a stack of Dulce de Leche ice cream, brownie and Devil’s Food cake topped with a Klondike bar and drizzled with chocolate syrup.
