LAS VEGAS (FOX5) – Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials unveiled a new technology at McCarran Airport in Las Vegas on Wednesday that will allow travelers not to dig out their boarding passes at security checkpoints.
According to a press release, Credential Authentication Technology (CAT) has been installed at all security checkpoints at McCarran Airport.
According to the TSA, CAT should scan, analyze and validate a traveler’s photo ID and confirm the traveler’s flight reservation during travel document review. The technology also offers improved capabilities for detecting fraudulent documents, according to the TSA.
The agency notes that McCarran is one of the few airports in the whole country that is fully equipped with CAT.
