This month marks five years of fun at the Dorsey, the standout lounge at the Venetian that began to take a different course for nightlife on the Strip.

A fresh alternative to the megaclubs of Vegas’ casinos, it offered ultra-lounge energy and a sophisticated atmosphere while staying true to a unique mantra: cocktails can be the centerpiece of a great nightlife.

The Dorsey’s success grew into what is now known as the Cocktail Collective. It includes the champagne-inspired Rosina and the exuberant Electra Cocktail Club, both on the Palazzo side of the property.

“When I’ve lived in Vegas for a long time, the nightlife really revolved around the mega-clubs and focused on those lines. Cocktails weren’t the focus [at clubs]”Says Daniel Yang, Electra’s lead bartender who worked on all three venues. He started out as a Busser in the Dorsey without making a career as a cocktailer. “It was always craft or volume, and you couldn’t have both. When they found a way to marry the two of them with this amazing experience and still cater to a larger group, it really got me going [think], that’s what I want to do. “

Each bar has its own vibe and specialty cocktail menu, and the Collective has accomplished two rare feats when it comes to the Strip: each venue pushes guests to visit the other two, and all of them attract impressive numbers of locals. It shows the power of a great drink.

“A big part of our appeal is to offer these three different personalities and the ability to really ban the hop from one to the other,” says Yang. “It’s great for me to switch from the smaller, more intimate space at Rosina, which is constantly geared towards a bespoke cocktail experience, to Electra, which is about high energy, people dancing and having fun and enjoying different cocktail styles, goes. ”

Yang says the collective sees itself as a pioneer in cocktail culture on the strip, and that means constant innovation is required. Every bar always offers something new, while retaining the classics and favorites that regular guests expect, and attaching importance to service and personal attention.
